Volunteer Opportunities

Digital Marketing & Website Chair
Manage EMCA’s online presence through content creation and digital communications. Key Responsibilities: •Design and post content on social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) •Manage and update EMCA’s website •Create and distribute email communications using MailChimp

Hard Copy Publicity Chair
Create promotional content to increase EMCA subscriber participation. Key Responsibilities: •Submit press releases and concert reviews to local news outlets. •Design and distribute posters, flyers, brochures, and event programs to enhance promotion.

Sponsorship & Grants Chair
Generate revenue through sponsorships and grants Key Responsibilities: •Solicit sponsorships from local businesses. •Identify and pursue grant opportunities. •Cultivate and maintain relationships with sponsors.

Music Award Chair
Solicit applications and select successful candidates for EMCA scholarships. Key Responsibilities: •Advertise EMCA scholarship opportunities via the EMCA website, email, Facebook, and through direct engagement with local school divisions. •Evaluate applications and select recipients for award recognition.

Program Selection Chair
Select and book performers for the EMCA season. Key Responsibilities: •Source diverse, high-quality acts for the season and secure alternates as needed. •Coordinate with the Manitoba Arts Network (MAN) to book artists. •Manage artists' contracts .

Memberships & Ticket Sales Chair
Handles season subscription sales and individual concert tickets. Key responsibilities: •Run subscription ticket sales campaigns •Reconcile and deposit cash/cheques from sales •Sell individual concert tickets by phone or at the door.

Hospitality Chair
Manages hospitality for visiting performers from arrival to concert end. Key Responsibilities: •Coordinate food and drink for performers. •Set up backstage and dressing rooms. •Greet performers and be their point of contact.

Volunteer Coordinator Chair
Ensure all volunteer roles are filled and supported. Key Responsibilities: • Recruit and assist volunteers • Schedule volunteers for concerts

House Manager Chair
Prepare the venue for concerts, including setup and cleanup. Key responsibilities: •Oversee chair arrangement per seating plan, place reserved signs, supervise chair removal and storage •Set up items like cushion tables, house signs, and coat racks •Collect tickets and hand out programs at entry

Stage Manager Chair
Coordinate with artists, announcers, hospitality, sound, lighting, and house staff to ensure seamless execution of concerts. They are accountable for overseeing all facets of a production and facilitating its successful delivery.

Assistant Lighting Technician
Assist the Lighting Manager to ensure quality lighting for all EMCA performances. Key Responsibilities: •Set up lighting equipment •Conduct light checks and manage lighting during concerts •Dismantle and store equipment after each concert

Assistant Sound Technician
Assist the Sound Manager to ensure quality sound is provided for all EMCA performances. Key Responsibilities: •Assemble the sound equipment. •Conduct sound checks and oversee audio operations throughout the concert. •Disassemble and pack away all equipment after each performance.

Secetary
Prepare and maintain Board of Director meeting documents and other documents as required. Key Responsibilities: •Schedule meeting rooms, prepare agendas, and record and distribute meeting minutes. •Maintain and update EMCA documents as required. •Manage activity calendar and facilitate annual tasks.

Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for managing and reporting EMCA’s financial activities in accordance with the EMCA By-laws. Key responsibilities: •Develop and maintain the annual budget, ensuring adherence to financial limits •Conduct monthly reconciliation of financial records •Manage deposits and disburse payments

Vice President
As second in command, the Vice-President supports the President with the overall management and direction of the EMCA organization.

President
The President is responsible for the overall management and direction of the EMCA organization. This position oversees the financial, organizational, marketing and public image functions of the organization.
