EMCA Music Awards

The Eastern Manitoba Concert Association is excited to present two awards aimed at supporting students aspiring to pursue post-secondary in music or attend the International Music Camp. 

Eligible students come from the following schools/school divisions:

  • School District of Whiteshell

  • Sunrise School Division

  • Sagkeeng Anicinabe High School

  • Sagkeeng Junior High School

$750 Post-Secondary Music Award

$750 International Music Camp Bursaries

International Musical Camp Bursary

Application Deadline: May 1 2026

Each year, a qualified Junior or Senior High School student can receive a $750 award to help attend a one-week session at the International Music Camp, held at the Manitoba/North Dakota Peace Gardens. Application instructions: 1. Audition No audition required for the International Music Camp Bursary. 2. Application Letter The Applicant must write an application letter describing their musical background, musical training, relevant awards received, the use of their talent within the community, and any other information in support of the application. 3. Letter of Reference The applicant must also provide a letter of reference from their music teacher which can be emailed to EMCA. 4. Application Form The applicant must fill in the application form to apply for the EMCA scholarship. Post Secondary Music Award

Application Deadline: May 1 2026

Each year, a qualified student receives a $750 award to support their post-secondary studies in music. Application instructions: 1. Audition Applicants for the Post-Secondary Music Award must perform an Audition, either singing or playing a musical instrument. Record the performance and upload the file to an online streaming service (YouTube, SoundCloud, DropBox, Google Drive, etc). 2. Application Letter The applicant must write an Application Letter describing their musical background, musical training, relevant awards received, post-secondary music school accepted by/applied to, the use of their talent within the community, and any other information in support of the application. 3. Letter of Reference The applicant should also provide a Letter of Reference from their music teacher. 4. Letter of Acceptance The applicant must provide a copy of the letter of acceptance to their chosen post-secondary school before final awarding of prize. 5. Application Form The applicant must fill in the application form to apply for the EMCA scholarship.
